Zoo Time

Today, we all took off work (yes even Cole has jobs) to do a little belated spring break and go to the Dallas Zoo, along with approximately 1 million other people, but at least we had awesome weather.

As parents, Amy and I have yet to hit our stride but at least we try to learn from the past.  The last Roman expedition to the Dallas Zoo, we were unable to do a pony ride. So today, first things first, pony rides.  Cole, the seasoned equestrian, rode well but was probably a bit disappointed that it only lasted 42 seconds. Gemma, in true cowgirl fashion did not make it 8 seconds.  Amy's hypothesis was that she was fine sitting in the saddle but once she realized there was a large (to her) animal underneath the saddle, it was over.  Pictures tell the whole story.

Regardless of the pony rides, today was a great day for Amy and I with the kids, we successfully saw a lot of animals, rode the train and as final act, rode the monorail.  Cole Reynolds loves to use binoculars to scope out large animals in the distance.  In fact, before they left the house he reminded Amy to grab them.  I feel truly blessed to have been given so much in life.
