The Romans have been busy busy lately, so we haven't had time to post. Joel has gone back to work and Cole Reynolds is now staying with Laura, his nanny. So far so good. Laura is really good to Cole, and he seems to have adjusted nicely. During our transition period, he cried a little when Joel left, but I think he is past that now.
Laura has taught Cole to say a few words...in English and Spanish (or maybe the words are just too close and he is really only saying it in one language). He can point at a picture of a baby and say "bebe" or "baby". If so inclined, he can also say ball, which he pronounces "ba". This is what I will technically count as his third word. We were at a party and he brought me a red clowns nose and said "ba". I couldn't believe it. Since then, he hasn't duplicated his feat on command but has a couple of times on his own. His favorite word is mouth or "mou". He loves for you to ask him where his mouth is, and he loves to point to it and say "mou".
While his vocabulary is really still building, he is definitely understanding more and more. You can ask him in English where his nose, mouth, head, cheek and tummy are and he point them out. You can ask him all the same things in Spanish (plus forehead and chin) and he can point them out too. Yay for my bilingual baby!!
I'm not exactly sure what we are going to do when the weather is 100+ because Cole Reynolds LOVES being outside. Loves it. His little cheeks get all flushed red from the heat and yet he insists upon going out side. He also still loves his wagon. This is another word he understands. We have to spell it out if we talk about it because otherwise, Cole runs directly to the garage and insists on a wagon ride.
Healthwise, Cole Reynolds is not doing so well. He eats almost nothing by mouth, and he vomits nearly everyday. He has had some diarrhea too, so we pray that he has just a had viral bug. Our next endoscopy is June 15th. We should know more then and will be able to formulate a game plan going forward. Having said that, Cole Reynolds is very happy and very busy 98% of the time. He is not letting EE slow him down one little bit.
I will try to post again soon and provide some pictures--if only you could beam them from the camera to the computer.
