Cole has started Parent's Day Out again. So far so good. He went last Friday to "meet the teachers". He was fairly enthusiastic about going, but when he got there, it apparently took a little coaxing. He would start to take a step towards the class but then he would back it on up. He claimed that he was "buffering". A favorite excuse of his these days. We had explained that when the videos on YouTube got hung up they were buffering. So now when he can't quite get a word out (on purpose...think, saying his night time prayers) or when he can't move from where he is, he is buffering. Where does this kid come up with these things? In any event, I took him Tuesday morning for his first day. It went much better than expected. I had asked Joel half-heartedly if he could go in to work late so he could take Cole to school because I was afraid I would be leaving a screaming kid. Well, thankfully, he went straight on in to the class pistons pumping. Tomorrow is day #2....fingers crossed for a similar result.
Gemma just celebrated her 7th month birthday on Sunday. Can you believe it? I can't. The time is passing much faster than I'm comfortable with. She is a smiley little girl and basically doing great. She sits and chatters all day. She is liking her new foods (other than bananas....interesting, huh). She loves to grab anything that Cole is playing with, which is not well received. He snatches it right back with a multitude of excuses. One being that the object was sad when Gemma took it. Kid. Anyway, I digress. Gemma hasn't sat up on her own yet (but she sure the heck is trying to do so the hard way by crunching up rather than getting her arms in on the action) or made any indication that she wants to crawl other than ooching on her back at night when I'm trying to lotion her up and put on her pj. She arches her back and ooches backward on the bed. I'll keep you posted, but I don't expect crawling any time soon.
Today, the kids had quite an adventure. Yoga at the mall and then park time with Elena's niece and nephews. Cole had a blast and Gemma loved watching everyone. Here are a few pics.
One from this morning.
And one from the other day for good measure (Cole had just snatched back the fireman after saying "I don't think so, not the fireman."
