The Fireman

Cole Reynolds is most often a fireman these days.  He loves firetrucks and he loves to dress up like a fireman.  Sometimes he is Thomas the fireman, but most often, he is just "the fireman."  He rides around the house on his Thomas power wheel, which is his fire engine, putting out fires and rescuing animals, usually Brutus, from trees (or the counter, which doubles as a tree).  Once he is done with the emergency, he drives back to his room, backs the firetruck into his closet (the fire station) and takes off his fireman outfit.  His helmet and goggles go on one particular shelf and his coat is hung neatly to the right of the cubbies.  Even when Cole is engaging in other activities, like building with his magnetic tiles as he is below, he is in character--he must have just finished with an emergency and not driven back to the fire station just yet.  Interestingly, he uses a stack of the square magnetic tiles as his mask.  He breathes through them sounding very much like Darth Vader.

Tomorrow, he has another endoscopy.  We are hopeful about it's outcome and ironically, this time we don't exactly know what that means.  A "good" scope might not necessarily be a clean scope given the variables we are working with.  We suspect he has had considerable reflux lately.  That too could cause an increase in eosinophils in his esophagus.  If so, that might mean that the last dirty scope was not because he was allergic to soy.  It is possible that this is wishful thinking.  We are not sure what the "right" outcome is, which is why we must trust that God does know and that it will be according to his will.  We are hoping to cheer up his spirits after the procedure with a special surprise.  Stay tuned!
