The joys of commercial air travel........ Our flight from Dallas to Miami was an hour late, which should have wreaked havoc on our 45 minute connection from Miami to San Jose, Costa Rica. But our good friends at American were kind enough to delay the second flight by 40 minutes or so and everything worked out fine.
So let the trip begin. Now, during our 30 minute pre-trip planning / strategy session, Amy and I debated whether to rent a car or hirer a local driver to take us around. Would Chuck Norris hire a driver? No. Besides half the adventure is driving our Daihatsu Crapido (its 4WD) in and around all the potholes, chickens, etc. Needless to say el Captain (JR) successfully guided us to our first stop, Arenal, without any major setbacks. The pictures are the drive up (3 hours = 45 miles - but hey, it was pretty).
