So yesterday, we flew into Steamboat Springs (really Hayden, the next town over, but close enough--btw...the airport was remarkably similar to St. Lucia's only no long custom lines, no tropical foliage and no smiling St. Lucians with their cool accents, but we did deboard the plan via stairs and walk to the very small terminal that sold home-made looking concessions) for our yearly ski adventures. As previously blogged about, Amy was sporting her snazzy Emus, which good thing they were comfy because we walked our butts off in the snow because I did not want to wait for the complementary shuttle to go the almost mile to the ski village. After we were all set with our skis, we hit up the Bear Lodge to have a drink.Today, we got up nice and early to be as close to
first on the lift as is possible. This even in light of the fact that we nearly sweat to death in our hotel room (ironic, I know) because of all the radiant heat from the adjoining rooms (or at least that's what we were told)...needless to say, we slept with the window open in Colorado in February...nice. Amy had her typical first run nerves (or as I like to say, complete regression to first time skier). Overall, the day was a success--we had great weather for most of the day (low 30s and sunny). Tomorrow, I'm going to snowboard. We'll see how that goes.
