Loving Life

The days are flying by so quickly!  There are so many things I want to capture from my time with Cole Reynolds and Gemma, but it seems that I never have the time to sit down and write it down.  Above are a few photos taken with my phone.

Gemma is a huge smiler.  If you smile at her, she almost always smiles back.  She just looks like the happiest little baby.  I don't know what she's thinking about, but it looks like it is all good thoughts.  In addition to being a smiler, Gemma also loves a good snuggle.  She is happiest when she is being held.  She is usually ok to hang out in her chair or on the activity mat for a little while after she has eaten, but when it gets close to naptime, she is pretty vocal about wanting to be picked up.  I don't mind at all.  I love snuggling with my baby girl.  Oh, and did I mention, she likes to be bounced?  I've been walking and bouncing for almost twelve weeks now.  If only there was a little bit more calorie burn for all that bouncing.

Cole is a busy little guy!  He finally started attending his parents day out that we've been paying for all year and is really enjoying it.  When I pick him up, he runs down the hall and says "Momma, momma, I'm eating!"  It makes me smile every time.  The first time I picked him up, they took me back to his classroom so that I could meet his teachers.  That time, he actually was eating when I got there--baby bites of watermelon.  We also send him with packet food and he eats a little.  We hate for him to feel left out while the other kids are eating.  This past Thursday when I picked him up, he did his usual sprint towards me and said his usual "Momma, momma, I'm eating!", to which his teacher replied that he was doing more talking to his friends than eating.  Two things about that: (1) any eating is GREAT for him and (2) why am I not surprised we have a talker on our hands.  He talks all the time.  He uses words that I don't even know how he learned.  The other day, he picked up a partially consumed water bottle on the table next to the chair where I feed Gemma.  He noted that it was partially full and said "Momma drink eventually."  Eventually?  Where in the world did he come up with that?  It is true, eventually I always finish my water.
