What's That?

This is one of Cole Reynolds' favorite things to say. He looks at the world with the eyes of a curious toddler seeing everything for the first time. He wants to know what everything is and when he asks, he gets this little high pitched voice and says "What's That?" or "Que's Eso?" (depending on whether you speak Spanish or English). It's kind of nice to take a moment and explain all kinds of things to Cole. Sometimes it's not as easy as you would think to sum up in simple words the answer to what something is. It really makes you think about it. Cole listens to everything you say. He may bring up something you've explained to him later that day or he may wait and bring it up again in a week or two. The other thing I find incredible is that he makes the most interesting connections between things based on what you have explained to him---things I would never think of. It really is remarkable to experience the vast world we live in through the pristine, unjaded eyes of a toddler.
