Today, sweet Gemma laughed for the first time. I had just come inside with her and she was still in her car seat. I was playing peek-a-boo with her. She got her typical big smile on her face and then she laughed. It was adorable. I did it a couple more times and she laughed some more. I wasn't sure I'd be able to get her to do it for Cole, but thankfully she is much more cooperative than her big brother.
Speaking of her big brother, that kid cracks me up--not by doing anything special but just by being him. Today, since it's Saturday, he woke up at the crack of dawn (as opposed to yesterday when he slept in till 8:30). Today, I got up with him while Joel hung out with Gemma, who was already trying to wake up. Cole has such a great imagination. Everything is a beep beep of some sort to him. Today, I was on the pumper truck (a fire truck that carries water--up to 40 bathtubs worth) and he was on the ladder truck (some of which have ladders that will extend to the thirteenth story and carry up to 12 firemen--we know a lot about fire trucks and other beep beeps around here). The dump truck was across the living room. In reality, I was on one couch and he was on the other. The dump truck was his Little Tykes slide. Cole would sound the alarm, pretend to put on his fireman clothes and then race off to the fire in his ladder truck. It was pretty funny--even if it was before 7:00 am.
