Cole Reynolds loves fire trucks, fire stations and fire fighters. We drive past a fire station on our way to Kidville (as well as many other places), and Cole always makes note of which of the three bay doors is open. There is a ladder truck, a pumper truck and an ambulance. Sometimes all three bay doors are up and sometimes some are open and some are closed. His closet is the fire station at home and the two doors are the garage doors of the fire station. Most of the times, I am the pumper truck and he is the ladder train (the broom is his ladder that he carries over his head). He also loves to see fire trucks driving down the street. He always wants to know where they are going, but is, at the same time, concerned that they are not at the station. One time, he was super excited because we were "following" the fire truck.
At home, Cole has been Thomas the Fire Train for a few days. He meets with the Fire Chief at his desk (a.k.a the little table in the living room). The Fire Chief is Joel. They have daily chats at his desk. Cole is so committed to fighting fires that yesterday he thought he should stay at the fire station ALL day. This meant that he should nap there too. I thought he would stay a little bit and then go to his bed, but he took his full nap in his fire station (picture below) until the alarm sounded ("Atencion, atencion!" said in Spanish just like on the Dora episode of Rojo the Fire Truck). Fire train Thomas had to spring into emergency action and go pick up "Cranky"(one of Thomas' friends a.k.a uncle Geoff) because his car had broken down. At first, his first responder instincts failed him and he wanted to go back to sleep, but after a little cajoling, he sprung to action along with junior firefighter "Emily" (Gemma for those who don't recall all of our Thomas names).
Isn't she a sweetie!! Love that girl. More about her in a couple days as she is getting ready to be 6 MONTHS OLD!!! I cannot believe it.
The good times never end at Casa de Roman!!
