It caught me TOTALLY by surprise today when I got a text from Elena asking if I'd seen that Gemma is getting a tooth. No, I certainly had not. Cole did not get his first tooth until he was 10 or 11 months old (which is roughly the time that Joel and I both got our first teeth), so I was not even thinking about her getting one for a month or more. I was so excited to get home and check it out. Lo and behold, her little bottom left tooth is poking out. This causes me to feel a mixture of happy and sad. Happy because my baby girl is turning into a big girl and sad because my baby girl is turning into a BIG GIRL. I'm not ready. I want to keep her this age forever. I'm having a lot of fun with Cole, but I really, really like the baby phase. In case you hadn't gleaned it from my posts, I'm infatuated with my little girl right now and I'm not ready for that to change. Sigh.
In other Gemma news, she may crawl after all. In the last few weeks, she has been making moves to crawl. She is rolling around a lot more and she is getting up on her knees and rocking. One day she will rock just enough to figure out it is a mode of transportation. Again, happy and sad.
