We all start off life by doing a lot of sleeping--or at least, sleeping whenever we feel like it. To me, that sounds like bliss. Sleeping was always Cole Reynolds' strong suit (except for the normal training period). These days, not so much. Nighttime wakings became an unpleasant reality, but (knock on wood) I am hoping we are through the fire on that one. Naps, on the other hand, are just not going to get better I'm afraid. On the very rare occasion he takes one, it is usually a nice long one, but these days, naps are going the way of the dinosaur. So sad. Instead of napping, this is what Cole is up to:
In case you are wondering, these are railroad tracks. Brutus is apparently on the rail and ready to puff along. He is usually pretty quite while he is "napping" so you don't know what he is up to until you walk into his room or bathroom, as the case may be. On more than one occasion we have found him in the bathroom smearing some product or another on his face. Once it was baby lotion and toothpaste, and most recently, it was Vaseline. Awesome. He has also gone through an entire nasal spray because he lined up his animals and gave them each a couple of puffs. If he could physically squeeze the inhaler, I'm sure they would also have been administered that as well. We have now removed all harmful and non-harmful products from his bathroom and room.
Yesterday, I got home early, so I took the kids to the park. Cole Reynolds runs around constantly. I wear myself out just watching him. Here's a pic of him on the train. I'm shocked I got a picture because when I ask him to say "cheese" he ducks.
I finally got to see Gemma swing, and she DOES love it. Ear to ear smile. That girl makes my heart happy (as does her big brother).
Before Grandpa and Abuelita left yesterday, Grandpa taught Gemma a new trick....standing up in her crib. I'm told that she was giving it a try today, though she was not successful yet. Apparently, she has been sitting up in her crib by herself since last week. When she wakes up from a nap she just rolls around or sits up and plays with her dolls/animals and blankets. I mean seriously, isn't she a peach?!
