I know I'm not saying anything that is not obvious on its face if you have kids, but time just flies by. I was doing so good posting in September, and here we are half way through October. Well, better late than never. My phone actually got filled up so I wasn't able to take any more pictures. Joel, being CIO of the Roman family, downloaded them to the computer, but that means I no longer have my photos from Cole's big weekend with Daddy to post. Maybe I'll try and do that later this week from home. However, suffice it to say that boys weekend (the last weekend of September) was a huge success. Cole and Joel had a blast taking the plane to Oklahoma, riding Thomas and spending some time with Grandpa and Abuelita. Gemma and I had a blast just hanging out. Man, taking care of one kid seems like a breeze these days.
I love getting pictures at work. These are a couple of my angel, Gemma. I still have not gotten to see her swing, but I'm told she LOVES it. Yay for sensory play!!
So, for anybody interested, our morning routine, is pretty crazy. Partially because Joel and I milk the clock for every last minute of sleep possible. Between our "evening chores" (as I call them when speaking to Cole Reynolds), which don't allow us to get in bed before 11:00, and Cole waking up for each and every noise he hears (or thinks he hears) these days, we are exhausted. We usually don't get up before the kids wake us up, which is about 6:45 to 7:15. For some reason, it is always earlier on the weekends, but I digress. In any event, I get up, feed Gemma and then pump (ugh...the bane of my existence). Joel gets up and showers. So, this means that Gemma gets to hang out with me and Cole has the run of the house. Usually, he just hangs out on the bed while I pump and Gemma plays happily next to me. (Have I mentioned what a good kid she is--sunshine and roses all the time--pretty sure that means we are in for a doosie come teenage years). Well, here are a couple of photos that I've taken with my phone while the kids play in the morning.
Last weekend, Daddy was a bit more tired than usual. He has been traveling and he was just worn out. So, Cole Reynolds and I went on a little date while daddy and Gemma got in a morning nap. Cole needed some strawberries so we headed to Central Market. I snapped these photos in the "pumpkin patch" in case the actual pumpkin photos we are paying for don't turn out. For some reason, he does not like pumpkins. I don't really understand why, but he spent all morning the other day plotting on how to get rid of the pumpkins that Joel purchased for our house. Joel LOVES pumpkins. He literally can't wait for it to be pumpkin season so he can buy some for the front of the house. Cole saw them and instantly started thinking up things to do to the pumpkins that would require daddy to take the pumpkins back to the pumpkin patch. Most of them involved the pumpkins breaking in to bunches of pieces. I told him daddy worked very hard on our pumpkin patch and would be sad for them to be destroyed. Cole asked whether the pumpkins were daddy's favorite friends. I guess when you have favorite friends that aren't animate objects, you assume adults do to. In any event, I explained that they weren't his favorite friends but that he would be sad just the same.
Last, but not least, Cole Reynolds loves to stand in boots. He has been known to get in daddy's boots and Cranky's boots (Uncle Geoff), and on that particular day, he got in Elena's boots. I'm thinking about getting him his own pair for Christmas, but I suspect he may not think it is as much fun to put his own on.
