Happy Halloween!!

All the things that were fun as a kid are fun once again when you have kids.  Getting to watch your kid have fun might be one of the top three best things in the world.

This year Cole Reynolds was a skeleton.  That's right, you read right, a skeleton.  "Wow", you might be saying.  "I assumed he would be Thomas the Train."  Well, that would be a pretty good assumption.  I too thought he may opt to be Thomas the Train (despite requests to be James the Train), so I bought him a Thomas the Train costume.  I had a sneaking suspicion that young Thomas would in fact elect to wear his skeleton pjs once Halloween rolled around.  You might call it a mother's intuition, but I would submit to you that that would be giving credit where credit is not due.  Anybody who has spent time around Cole knows that (a) he loves to be a stinker, especially at the exact moment when you would rather him not be one and (b) he LOVES (there is not enough emphasis for this one) to wear pjs.  He rarely wears anything but pjs in fact.  Additionally, he LOVES his skeleton pjs.  They glow in the dark, and it never ceases to amaze him.  Therefore, the feeling had more to do with common sense based on the facts as I know them than intuition, but hopefully that intuition thing will come in handy at some point.

Gemma, my angel baby, was an owl this year.  If I dare say so myself, the cutest owl ever. See below and decide for yourself, but I think I'm right on this one (unless of course you are reading this and your child happened to be an owl for Halloween as well, then I can see how there is room for disagreement here).

The kids had a lot fun.  Gemma, as you will see below, had the most fun "attacking" Cole in the wagon.  He went stiff as a board when she lunged at him.  I consider this an improvement in his demeanor where Gemma is concerned.  He even held his protest about the matter for a reasonable period of time.
