Puff Patrol

This morning Gemmie Bear was a little under the weather.  She has this awful sounding cough--not like croup but like chest congestion.  Makes me soo sad for her.  Anyway, she was not surprisingly not very hungry for breakfast.  Since she didn't feel like eating, I was just sitting with her while she ate puffs.  Cole Reynolds decided HE wanted some puffs too.  So I got a handful that I could hand out to him and Gemma.  When I put a puff on Gemma's tray, he would snatch it off her tray and put it in his mouth.  This went on and on until I told him he could not take the ones I put on her tray.  He wasn't very happy about that.  He would insist that he wanted the ONE puff she had in her mouth.  "Make her spit it out mommy."  Really?!  Aren't puffs fungible items?  We have thousands of them and you want the one she has in her mouth?  I don't think so kid.  After I explained in no uncertain terms that I would not be asking Gemma to spit out her puff so that he could have it, he resigned himself to sharing a puff here or there.  This went on for 15 or 20 minutes.  While I sat there doling out puffs to one kid or the other, I thought, "Man, am I lucky or what!"  Puff patrolling has definitely been the highlight of my day--as I rightfully knew it would be.  It is the simple things that I wish to remember forever.
