The mimic, the memorizer and the Nugget!

The Mimic

Gemma is undoubtedly a mimic.  She is always observing and frequently mimics what she sees.  Here's the proof that my little gal is a mimic.  At the mall today, the kids were watching a little show.  The lady was reading a book and asking questions about what had happened.  Naturally the kids were raising their hands in response to the questions.  Gemma joined in on the fun.  Here she is raising her little hand.  So cute.

The Memorizer

Cole is a memorizer.  It is most evident with books.  He will call you out if you skip something and can often recite entire books by memory.  I know this is quite common with kids and their favorite books, but it never ceases to amaze me.  Apparently the lady at the mall was also amazed.  She called on Cole to answer a question she had posed to the kids.  He responded by reciting the entire book.  She asked Elena if she could read with him after the program.  Sweet little guy gave her a hug and kiss after their one-on-one story time.

The Nugget

Finally, the nugget.  The most exciting thing to happen today or all week or possibly all month (other than Gemma's first birthday).  Cole Reynolds ATE 5 sweet potato fries and 2 chicken nuggets!!!  Cole has never eaten a chicken nugget before.  This might be his first age appropriate meal since he was 12 months old and eating puree was age appropriate.  He's had waffles, pancakes and toast in the last couple of months but this some how says 3 year old little boy in a way that waffles and pancakes don't.  We are so proud of our little guy!!  We pray that he was heartened by his bravery and continues to expand his eating skills.
