Easter Mass

Did I mention that the Fireman went with us to Mass?  I'm sure there were equal parts of people thinking, "What kind of parent lets their kid attend Easter Mass in a fireman outfit?" and "Aw, isn't that cute that that little kid is dressed up like a fireman."  Actually, given that it was Easter Mass, I'm going to hope that the judgment was at a minimum and there were more thoughts in the vein of the latter.  As we were getting ready to leave, Cole Reynolds was very distraught at having to put something on other pajamas, so I thought that the rain books, I mean fireman boots, was a nice compromise.  I didn't realize (foolishly) that if you give a pig a pancake, he's going to want some maple syrup to go with it.  SO, Cole immediately grabbed his fireman jacket, because it was a bit cold, and his fireman hat, because it was a little rainy.  Joel drew the line at the hat going into church, but Cole was able to negotiate an umbrella for the rain and the jacket because it was, in fact, a little chilly.  Whatever people were actually thinking, there were certainly several amused/kind looks, followed by whispers to family members, followed by pointing.  Oh well.

The Easter Bunny visited the house while we were at Mass.  Here's the baskets he brought Cole and Gemma.  Ironically, Cole seems to have enjoyed Gemma's goodies as much as or more so than his own.  After all, magic wants are great fun--especially when they light up and play a magic sound when waived.
