Bending Rods

Wednesday started off pretty slow. We slept late, worked out, dodged some iguanas, had a light lunch and headed off for Saphire Bay to meet the 'Double Header' for a 1/2 day of in-shore fishing.

Before we began our trip our captain gave us a little speech that I think really hits home for a lot of guys. (Recalled to the best of my ability below)

Captain Tyler, "Look, we are not going out for some trophy that you can mount on the wall at your home. We are going out to bend rods and get some action."

That we did.....captain Tyler. I started the day off with a small Barracuda and followed it up with another slightly larger Barracuda.
Lot of bent rods, somewhere between 15 - 20 fish in total. Some where more impressive than others, a lady from Denton, TX caught a small reef shark but the only real trophy (ie. mountable) fish was caught by none other than Amy.

I was extremely proud of Amy. She fought the fish for a good 5 minutes and from both sides of the boat. Finally, she landed a 47" Barracuda. Not bad for the 1st fish she claims to have ever caught. But we all know who the 1st big fish she caught.....

Great fish, you're missing all kinds of fun at the bank. See you on Monday.
